Magnetic Therapy For Horses
Magnetic therapy is a natural healing therapy to help promote and speed up the recovery process, by increasing blood flow to the areas it treats. This improves the efficiency of blood flow, gets more oxygen to cell tissues and allows efficient absorption of nutrients.
Experiments with thermography have shown an increase in blood flow with the use of magnets. Therefore conditions which benefit from improvements in circulation are highly likely to respond positively to the use of magnetic therapy including: arthritis, sore muscles, tendon problems, bruising, stiffness, sore or bruised feet, poor hoof growth, navicular, laminitis, tying up, strains/sprains/injured muscles, acute/chronic injuries.
Magnetic therapy can also be used to help prevent injury to an already weak or vulnerable area, for cold backed horses and to help alleviate muscle stiffness after strenuous exercise.
Magnetic therapy is a natural treatment and therefore the actual treatment is safe to use. As with all types of alternative treatmetn, medical advice should be sought at the outset to ensure that an accurate diagnosis is made prior to treatment.
